Faith and Photography

Here are my personal feelings of Faith and Photography. These 2 things 'Photography and Faith' have much in common. 1) Visualizing the photograph: Identifying your subject and building the photograph around this subject. Being able to see the beauty in God's creation, whether it's in the grandeur of a mountain range, dew on a rose or the simple act of sharing a cookie with under privileged child. 2) Light is one of the most importants part of photography, in that without the Light there is no photo. As a believer, we are to share the light of the world. As the children's song goes: Don't hide your light under a bush, Oh No! 3) Legwork: Finding the perfect photo opportunity generally takes time and perserverance. I find that using this time for prayer and praising God is a great worship time. 4) Sharing: there is nothing better than being able to share your photographs and faith with friends, family and strangers.

There literally tens of thousands of photographers each with their own ideas of why they continue in the art of photography. Everyone has a reason for their photography and I wonder what their reason might be. Is it a self driven reason or do they have a greater reason (purpose) in mind?
